A 10-year-old boy from North Carolina is helping veterans during Christmas in a very special way. Every year since he was 5, Tucker Rose has collected thousands of cards to give to veterans.

He’s distributed 11,500 cards since 2020.

“It started during COVID in 2020, and we knew that the Veterans couldn’t get visitors, and so we wanted to collect cards so that they could have some happiness to their Christmas,” said Tucker.

“It’s really nice because some of them, they don’t have any family to come visit, and so they’re the most excited whenever we bring them Christmas cards,” Tucker said.

Tucker and his family didn’t expect his “Salute to Veterans Christmas Card Drive” to gain as much attention as it has. “Last year we got over 5,000 cards,” Tucker said.

All the cards collected are sorted into bundles and tied with pretty ribbons.

“On Christmas Day, we drive to Kinston, NC and hand-deliver the cards to our amazing Veterans. It's honoring our Veterans and preserving history.” it says on Tucker’s website, “In Tucker’s Mailbox.”

All the Boy Wants is ‘More Christmas Cards’ to Give

When asked if Tucker has any Christmas wishes for himself, he said he just wants “More Christmas cards.”

Tucker would love more cards to give to veterans this year, which can be sent to:

Tucker also writes letters to active-duty service members, including those from NASA. He has worked with Military Missions in Action’s “Fill the Footlocker” program every year since 2021 and has contributed 3,000 letters to their care packages.

Tucker is a bright boy with a big heart. It’s great that he has a supportive family that helps make his generous dreams possible. Thanks to him, veterans’ Christmases will be a little brighter!
