Mariam Dagga, a visual freelance journalist for The Associated Press, chronicled the stream of wounded and dead that every day flowed into southern Gaza’s main hospital, where she was often based. She followed doctors as they struggled to save starving children.

Dagga was killed Monday by Israeli strikes on Nasser Hospital, according to health officials.

This is a gallery of her photos, curated by AP photo editors.
