The Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children (LuskinOIC) proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Timothy A. Schaub, M.D., F.A.C.S., MBA as the Head of the Hand and Microsurgery Center. With a distinguished career spanning decades and a reputation for innovative approaches in pediatric hand and microsurgical care, Dr. Schaub brings unparalleled expertise to LuskinOIC’s mission of providing world-class, compassionate care to children.

Dr. Schaub joined LuskinOIC in March 2024 from Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he served as the Director of the Hand and Microsurgery Program and the Complex Wound Program. Under his leadership, Phoenix Children’s Hospital became Arizona’s premier center for advanced pediatric limb reconstruction and microsurgical procedures, including free functional muscle and fibula transfers. Dr. Schaub also co-developed a multidisciplinary arthrogryposis program, earning recognition as a regional referral center.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Schaub is also an accomplished educator and researcher. He has held academic appointments as an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and Creighton University Medical School. A leader in his field, he has presented extensively at national and international conferences and authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on hand surgery, pediatric microsurgery, and limb reconstruction.
