Wellabe Introduces Customizable Critical Illness Insurance in 14 States

Wellabe has launched a new Critical Illness insurance product in 14 states 1 to protect the well-being of customers when they suffer from cancer, heart attack, stroke, or other critical illnesses. Underwritten by Medico ® Insurance Company, Wellabe’s Critical Illness insurance provides customizable coverage for individuals, couples, and families that pays a lump-sum cash benefit.

“Nearly everyone knows a loved one who has been diagnosed with cancer or suffered a heart attack or stroke. Customers will choose between the Cancer and Cancer in Situ 3 or the Heart Attack and Stroke 4 base policies, then select from several optional riders to build their customized coverage package. The riders offered 5 can provide payouts for skin cancer diagnoses; radiation and chemotherapy treatments; and specified diseases, such as blindness, deafness, end-stage renal failure, or major organ failure that requires specialized treatment 6. Policyholders can also select options to restore coverage if they fully recover from their initial diagnosis.
