MIAMI — Police in South Florida say two teenage girls have died in accidental shootings over the past week. Police and the Miami-Dade County school superintendent plan to address the issue during a Thursday news conference. On Monday, a 17-year-old told police he accidentally shot a 17-year-old girl at an apartment in Miami-Dade County. He's facing manslaughter charges. Another 17-year-old boy is facing similar charges following the May 12 shooting of a 15-year-old girl at a home in Miami. Miami's police chief says officials will be making a plea for people to secure weapons now that kids are home from school.
