LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — Alejandro De La Poza's 24-yard field goal as time expired helped carry Tarleton State to a 27-24 win over McNeese on Saturday night.

De La Poza's game-winner occurred at the end of a 16-play, 84-yard drive that lasted almost four minutes. His 24-yard field goal three minutes into the fourth quarter tied it at 24-all and ended a 10-play, 66-yard drive that took 2:59. De La Poza finished 2 of 3 in field-goal attempts.

McNeese took its last lead when Deaglan Camron kicked a 37-yard field goal to end the third for a 24-21 advantage. Camron made 1 of 2 field goals.

Kaden Anderson threw for 363 yards for the Texans (3-0) and Tylan Hines ran for 141 yards on 17 carries and scored two touchdowns. He reached the end zone on runs of 13 and 46 yards.

Devin Lippold threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns for McNeese (1-2) and Elisha Edwards had 111 yards receiving on eight receptions.

It's the second-straight season Tarleton State has won its first-three games.
