Piercy scores 16, Coppin State defeats Delaware State 65-47

BALTIMORE (AP) — Jamari Piercy had 16 points in Coppin State's 65-47 victory over Delaware State on Saturday.

Piercy shot 8 of 12 from the field for the Eagles (4-21, 2-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Hussain Williams added 15 points while going 5 of 11 from the floor, including 2 for 6 from 3-point range, and 3 for 3 from the line while he also had eight rebounds. Daveyon Lydner had 10 points and shot 2 of 5 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. The Eagles ended a six-game slide with the win.

The Hornets (6-16, 1-6) were led in scoring by Ponce James, who finished with 11 points and three steals. Corey Perkins added eight points and four assists for Delaware State. Kareem Watson also had eight points.
