Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and I want to say I see you, and more importantly, God sees you.

Lean in, sweet sis, feel it all, and then hand it over to a great, Big God who has really big shoulders. Oh honey, if you need a pity party, go on and throw one, but please remember that this too shall pass, I promise. This season doesn't last forever. You will find your rhythm, the romance in your marriage will return, and you will be able to find yourself again. So, go ahead and dive into the ice cream and have a really good cry; you are totally allowed!

We love our adult children, but sometimes take it for granted that they know we still love and support them. We don’t always need to use words, as our actions speak loudly too.

Do my prayers for protection make any difference? Are my prayers powerful enough to change the present or the future? Does God want to hear them? Yes. A thousand times yes.

'Snowplow' parents likely started off in the helicopter. Then, they hovered, eventually landing and proceeding to clear everything out of their children’s pathway. These parents, while well-meaning, want to make sure their children have an easy road to success.

Here are four biblical truths that will help us avoid the pitfalls of 'snowplow parenting.'

Not everyone has to know what you are facing, but someone does. Preferably someone able to offer you a lifeline. Don't be afraid to ask a friend to babysit so you can go to counseling, yoga, or the doctor. Let your partner know you love them but need them because things are happening in your mind and body that you just don't know how to handle alone. Let them take the lead in parenting and helping you find yourself again.

Celebrate God’s good gifts to us in the natural world with your whole family, from youngest to oldest.

While we may have been young adults once, we have never parented them before. It requires open communication and incorporating wisdom from those who have experienced it as well as help families navigate this season of life.
