- Supreme Court Upholds Trump Administration Effort to Overhaul Mail-in Ballots
If the various blue states won’t purge their voter lists of dead or non-citizen voters, the administration wants to track exactly who is receiving a ballot. Amy Howe at SCOTUSblog: The Supreme Court on Monday afternoon cleared the way for the Trump administration to begin implementing an executive order, signed by President Donald Trump earlier this year, that imposes restrictions on mail-in voting. The court paused an injunction by a federal judge in Boston that had barred the federal government from applying provisions of that executive order in the November elections to 23 states (along with the District of Columbia) challenging their legality. A separate ruling by the same judge, in a case filed by a different set of plaintiffs, temporarily prohibits the U.S. Postal Service from implementing one provision of the executive order anywhere in the United States. That ruling remains in effect, at least for now. In its 10-page, unsigned opinion, the majority said that it was too soon for courts to consider the states’ challenge because the order has not yet been carried out – which means that the states have not suffered the kind of injury that allows their lawsuit to move forward.
- Trump on Education: ‘we're putting the parents back in charge’
Parents ought to be listening—and encouraged. The comments came as Trump and Education Secretary Linda McMahon hosted an event highlighting the administration’s efforts on education—focusing on school choice. President Trump: Under the Trump administration, we’re systematically ending every single one of these radical left betrayals and we’re putting the parents back in charge. They’re the ones that love our children. They’re the ones that should be in charge.
- Bessent Unveils ‘Operation Economic Outcast’ Targeting Iranian Regime
Notable from the Treasury Secretary has been his language making clear the objective is the end of the regime: President Trump has taken action that his predecessors have long deferred. And under his leadership, America is no longer managing the Iranian threat. We are ending it. Our great armed forces have laid the groundwork for achieving the president’s objective of preventing Iran from ever obtaining nuclear weapons. They have shown America’s resolve to finally end this threat. And the strength of America’s economy under President Trump allows us to wage this sustained financial operation alongside the might of our military.
