KIGALI, Rwanda (AP) — Thousands of visitors have descended on Kigali, where the road cycling world championships are being hosted for the first time on African soil.

A global audience of tens of millions is expected to watch elite riders from about 100 nations compete in Rwanda, including the men’s elite road race on Sunday up the challenging Mur du Kigali.
