Trump Returns to White House Correspondents' Dinner After April Attack

President Donald Trump returned to the White House Correspondents' Association dinner Friday night, making his first appearance at the rescheduled event after the original gathering was postponed following an April shooting. During an hourlong speech, Trump mixed humor with criticism of journalists and political rivals while also praising members of the press. He joked about seeking a third presidential term before clarifying that he was not serious. The president also acknowledged the April attack that forced the dinner's postponement and praised organizers for moving forward with the event. The evening included journalism awards and recognition for the Secret Service agent and hotel staff who responded during the April shooting.

Police Search for Two Men Who Parachuted From Seattle's Space Needle

Seattle police are searching for two men who allegedly climbed over the glass barrier at the city's iconic Space Needle and BASE jumped from the 605-foot landmark. Investigators say the men purchased admission tickets Friday night before entering the observation deck. Surveillance video reportedly showed them going into a restroom, emerging with helmets, climbing over the glass wall and parachuting from the tower. Security personnel were unable to determine where the jumpers landed, and officers were unable to locate them. Authorities described the suspects only as white men in their late 20s. The pair could face trespassing charges if they are identified. BASE jumping is an extreme sport in which participants parachute from fixed objects such as buildings, bridges and cliffs.

Gordie Howe International Bridge Opens Between U.S. And Canada

A major new international crossing between the United States and Canada is now open to traffic. The Gordie Howe International Bridge connects Detroit with Windsor, Ontario, and is expected to strengthen trade, tourism and travel between the two countries. The multibillion-dollar project has been years in the making. Canada officially celebrated the bridge's completion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week. However, U.S. and Michigan officials were not invited after President Donald Trump announced new 50% tariffs on Canadian imports. The bridge is named after Canadian hockey legend Gordie Howe, who starred for the NHL's Detroit Red Wings.

ICE Reviews Officer Vetting After Fatal Maine Shooting

The Trump administration is reviewing how an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer was vetted after a fatal shooting in Maine raised new questions about the agency's hiring and training practices. Border czar Tom Homan said Sunday that the screening process for Army veteran and ICE officer David Brouillette is under internal review after relatives alleged he had a history of serious mental health struggles and violent behavior. Homan said if those allegations are confirmed, the officer should not have passed the vetting process. He also said ICE has issued a new directive requiring at least one body-worn camera to be recording during every vehicle stop. The fatal shooting of a Colombian national in Maine, along with another deadly ICE encounter in Houston, has prompted renewed scrutiny from lawmakers over immigration enforcement tactics and officer training as the administration continues its deportation campaign.

Can We Build A Durable, Post-Trump Conservative Movement?

Josh opens the show by discussing the future of the conservative movement and where the Right goes from here as it confronts bad actors within its own ranks. He explains why the debate on the Right must move in a more constructive direction if the movement hopes to remain strong in the years ahead. Josh is joined by Henry Olsen, Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, to discuss the conservative movement with and without Donald Trump, and what the future of the Republican Party looks like after a Trump presidency. Josh also reacts to the horrific stabbing in Manhattan on Thursday, arguing that enough is enough when it comes to anti-Semitic violence. He explains why these attacks must be condemned unequivocally and why inflammatory rhetoric from New York City's leadership risks fueling even more violence. Rafael Mangual of the Manhattan Institute joins the show to discuss New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, his approach to crime and criminal justice reform, and what his policies could mean for public safety in the city.
