The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld state laws that bar transgender girls and women from competing on female school and college sports teams, ruling that the policies do not violate the Constitution or the federal anti-discrimination law known as Title IX.
In a decision involving laws from Idaho and West Virginia, the court's conservative majority concluded that the restrictions are legally permissible. The ruling marks another significant decision involving transgender rights from the Supreme Court.
More than two dozen Republican-led states have enacted similar laws, and the decision is expected to strengthen those policies. However, legal challenges to transgender athlete policies in states such as California and Connecticut remain unresolved and will continue through the courts.
The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld birthright citizenship, rejecting President Donald Trump's effort to limit who automatically receives U.S. citizenship at birth.
The ruling leaves in place the long-standing interpretation of the 14th Amendment, which guarantees citizenship to nearly everyone born on U.S. soil regardless of their parents' immigration status.
The decision is one of the court's most closely watched rulings this term and represents a significant setback for the Trump administration's effort to change birthright citizenship through executive action.
The ruling preserves existing citizenship policies while leaving broader immigration debates to Congress and future legal challenges.
The family of Charlie Kirk is expected to attend a key preliminary hearing next week in Utah for the man accused of killing him.
The weeklong hearing will give prosecutors their first opportunity to publicly present evidence they say links 23-year-old Tyler Robinson to the fatal shooting. Planned evidence includes forensic testing, surveillance video, witness statements, autopsy findings and alleged messages in which Robinson admitted to the crime.
Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, along with his parents, Robert and Kathryn Kirk, are expected to be in the courtroom throughout the proceedings. It will be the family's first time facing the accused gunman in court.
Robinson is charged with aggravated murder in the September 2025 killing of Kirk and has not yet entered a plea. Prosecutors have announced they will seek the death penalty if he is convicted.
Virginia is set to launch recreational marijuana sales next year after lawmakers approved the creation of a regulated retail cannabis market.
Under the new law, adults 21 and older will be able to purchase marijuana from licensed dispensaries beginning July 1, 2027. State officials say up to 350 cannabis stores could eventually open across Virginia.
The move comes five years after Virginia became the first Southern state to legalize marijuana possession. While more states continue expanding access to cannabis, marijuana remains illegal under federal law.
A dangerous heat wave is spreading from the Midwest into the eastern United States, bringing high humidity and triple-digit heat index values to millions of people.
Communities are opening cooling centers and urging residents to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors. Some summer camps and outdoor activities have been canceled or delayed because of the extreme conditions.
Forecasters say the heat and humidity are expected to last through much of the week, with some of the worst conditions likely in the Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to allow President Donald Trump to remove Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook from her position, preserving the independence of the nation's central bank.
The decision leaves Cook in office and signals that members of the Federal Reserve Board remain protected from being dismissed by the president without legal cause.
The ruling is viewed as significant for Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh, reinforcing the central bank's independence as it continues to make decisions on interest rates and monetary policy.
The case is one of several major decisions the Supreme Court issued as it wraps up its current term.
The Erin Molan Show | Episode 186 (Part 1)
Iran, Keir Starmer, NATO, Candace Owens, Erika Kirk, Turkey, Israel, Megyn Kelly, Gwyneth Paltrow — and the cultural madness that keeps proving the point.
In this episode, I explain why Iran’s own state TV just said the quiet part out loud about nuclear weapons, why the idea of Keir Starmer leading NATO is as terrifying as it is ridiculous, why the attacks on Erika Kirk have crossed into something truly vile, and why Erdogan’s latest comments about Israel should be taken seriously by America and the West.
I also look at the left once again eating its own, Megyn Kelly appointing herself the expert on turning against Israel, and why Gwyneth Paltrow may have just given the perfect response to the mob — without saying a word. Inspired by the transcript’s focus on Iran’s nuclear messaging, Starmer/NATO, Candace and Erika Kirk, Erdogan, Israel, Megyn Kelly, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Erin Molan Show | Episode 185 – Part 2
The Charlie Kirk Trial Files continue.
One of the biggest claims to emerge following Charlie Kirk's murder came from Tucker Carlson, who suggested it was "obviously" not Charlie's views on transgender issues that led to his death, but rather his stance on Israel.
In this episode, Erin Molan speaks with Rabbi Pesach Wolicki — the very man at the center of that online theory after he participated in a Zoom call with Charlie Kirk the night before his death. Rabbi Wolicki responds directly to the allegations, explains what was actually discussed, and examines why he believes the theory falls apart when tested against the known facts.
Then, Erin plays the remarkable moment Tucker Carlson is confronted about his own comments... and lets you decide what to make of his response.
As the Charlie Kirk murder trial approaches, this series continues to examine the claims, evidence, court developments and competing theories surrounding one of the most shocking political assassinations in modern America. Discussions of public allegations and theories should remain grounded in available evidence, and the trial process will ultimately determine the facts.
