On a Night so Clear and Cold - guitar version

All for your delight. This Christmas Carol was written by Bjørn Eidsvåg in 1993, and has been sung many times since. This used a sound-track from the original, and the translation was designed to fit it.I am not aware of anyone translating it, so I made this one today (3rd of January 2026) knowing that if I didn't do it now I would forget until next Christmas, by which time it would be too late for anyone wanting to use it.

Legendary Night - TobyMac's 'Heaven on My Mind: Start to Finish LIVE + the Hits' Tour (Roanoke, VA)

TobyMac brought his intimate "Heaven on My Mind: Start to Finish LIVE + the Hits" tour to Berglund Performing Arts Theatre on a beautiful fall evening in Roanoke, Virginia. Trading massive arenas for a more personal setting, the seven-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist delivered an unforgettable two-part experience that showcased both his latest creative work and popular hits. The theatre's warm acoustics and close quarters created a cozy atmosphere, helping the audience focus on and connect with the lyrics of each song.

The evening's first act featured the complete album performed each song start to finish. This deeply personal collection, inspired in part by the loss of his beloved son Truett and his longtime friend and collaborator Gabe Patillo, took the audience on an emotional journey through grief, hope, and redemption. Songs like "Heaven on My Mind," "God Did It," and the poignant "Goodbye (For Gabe)" resonated with profound authenticity, while uplifting tracks such as "Nothin' Sweeter" and "Lord It Feels Good" reminded everyone of the joy found in faith. "Can't Stop Me” was “written from the valley of the shadow of death… about the opposition we encounter and the power of belief.” It was quite a journey for everyone there.

The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart, and the single “Nothin’ Sweeter” spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Christian Airplay chart and hit No. 1 on the Christian Adult Contemporary chart.

The second half of the show shifted gears as TobyMac and his Diverse City Band launched into a hit-filled set that had the crowd on their feet. A special highlight came during the "7 Minutes of 7 Oldies" medley when former Diverse City member and beloved vocalist Nirva Ready joined the band on stage, bringing waves of nostalgia as she performed classic tracks with the band that longtime fans remembered from her years touring with TobyMac from the mid-2000’s through the 2010’s. Her powerful voice, infectious energy, and sweet spirit reminded everyone why she had been such an integral part of the Diverse City sound.

As the final notes echoed through the Berglund Performing Arts Theatre, it was evident that this intimate tour format singing through each song of “Heaven on my Mind” allowed TobyMac to connect with his audience in ways that larger venues simply cannot replicate. It was the first time he had ever sung through an album in one concert, and fans knew this was a straight-up legendary night.

Book of Psalms Back to Songs: Psalm 4 - I'll Trust Your Heart

The "Book of Psalms: Back to Songs" project is a creative endeavor to restore the original spirit of the Psalms - as songs of worship, lament, praise, and reflection-by transforming them back into musical form, as many were written. Drawing from modern translations of the classic biblical texts, this project reimagines the Psalms with fresh musical arrangements that blend timeless messages with modern sounds. Each Psalm is thoughtfully adapted into lyrical and melodic compositions, many using modern tools, to explore harmonies, instrumentation, and genre-blending arrangements. From soulful acoustic ballads and rock/pop hymns to country pieces and R&B-inspired tunes, the project seeks to make the Psalms accessible and resonate with today’s listeners, while staying true to their emotional and spiritual depth. Psalm 4 - I'll Trust Your Heart [Intro, Expressive piano + soft strings] (Mmm… I’m calling out tonight…) (Oh, listen to my heart…) [Verse 1, Tender piano and pads] You are my light, my protector and peace, Answer my heart when I’m down on my knees. In my despair, You carried me through, Opened my cage, and freedom was You. How long will I chase what fades away, When love like Yours is here to stay? [Pre-Chorus, Gentle electric guitar enters] You heard my cry when no one cared, Your mercy spoke, I know You’re there. [Chorus, Soaring vocals with orchestral lift] You’ve chosen love, You’ve chosen me, You’re the truth my soul believes. When shadows fall, I’ll stand in grace, And feel Your heartbeat take its place. In quiet nights, I’ll search within, And let Your promise wash my sin. I’ll trust Your word, I’ll trust my heart, Where You begin, I’ll never part. [Verse 2, Piano and strings build slowly] Some still ask, “Who’ll bring us light?” But Your kindness breaks the night. You fill my cup, my joy runs deep, A peace so pure, it lets me sleep. The world may fade, but I still find, Your love forever intertwined. [Pre-Chorus, Gentle percussion joins] Each breath I take reminds me how, You lift the weight, You keep this vow. [Chorus, Full arrangement, emotional swell] You’ve chosen love, You’ve chosen me, You’re the truth my soul believes. When shadows fall, I’ll stand in grace, And feel Your heartbeat take its place. In quiet nights, I’ll search within, And let Your promise wash my sin. I’ll trust Your word, I’ll trust my heart, Where You begin, I’ll never part. [Bridge, Emotional string swells, heartfelt delivery] When I was lost, You set me free, You heard my prayer, You rescued me. I call Your name, I find my calm, Your touch, my shelter, safe and strong. [Final Chorus, Soaring power ballad climax] You’ve chosen love, You’ve chosen me, You’re the truth my soul believes. When shadows fall, I’ll stand in grace, And feel Your heartbeat take its place. Through every storm, through every scar, I’ll trust Your love, it’s who You are. I’ll trust Your word, I’ll trust my heart, Where You begin… I’ll never part. [Outro, Gentle piano + soft fade of strings] (Mmm… I’ll never part…) (Where You begin… You hold my heart…) --- notes: Words updated for song lyrics, changes made to focus on the individual rather than the audience Style: 90s–2000s power ballad, expressive piano, orchestral pads, emotional strings, gentle electric guitar, warm male vocal with heartfelt vibrato and cinematic lift

Book of Psalms Back to Songs: Psalm 3 - Not Afraid Anymore

Psalm 3 - Not Afraid Anymore [Intro, Acoustic guitar riff + organ hum] (Mm, yeah… I’ve walked through the fire, Lord…) (But I ain’t bowin’ down no more…) [Verse 1, Gritty acoustic + soft drum shuffle] Got a thousand voices tryin’ to tear me apart, They whisper, “God ain’t comin’, you’re losin’ heart.” But You’re my shield when the night won’t end, My soul defender, my faithful friend. I call Your name, You hear me still, Your grace comes down from that sacred hill. [Pre-Chorus, Low growl with rising tension] When the dark closes in, I remember Your flame, You lift me up, I won’t drown in shame. [Chorus, Big soulful southern rock lift, harmony vocals] I sleep and wake, my soul restored, You fight my battles, You are the Lord. Ten thousand fears can circle me ‘round, But I’m still standin’, I won’t back down. You cover me deep in Your holy fire, I’m not afraid anymore — no, I’m not tired. [Verse 2, Steady beat, organ swells, soulful delivery] They said I’d break, they said I’d fall, But mercy caught me through it all. Your hand reached down through the smoke and lies, And pulled me up where freedom flies. Now my chains are rust, my fear’s long gone, You gave me strength to carry on. [Pre-Chorus, Building intensity] The battle’s loud, but I hear Your voice, In the storm I still rejoice. [Chorus, Full band, electric guitar and choir backing] I sleep and wake, my soul restored, You fight my battles, You are the Lord. Ten thousand fears can circle me ‘round, But I’m still standin’, I won’t back down. You cover me deep in Your holy fire, I’m not afraid anymore — no, I’m not tired. [Bridge, Gritty blues guitar solo + emotional vocals] Come save me, Lord, break the chains tonight, Crush the lies that kill the light. Shatter the teeth of the enemy’s roar, Your truth is my weapon, I’m free once more. [Final Chorus, Choir harmonies + soaring guitars] I sleep and wake, my soul restored, You fight my battles, You are the Lord. Ten thousand fears can circle me ‘round, But I’m still standin’, I won’t back down. You cover me deep in Your holy fire, I’m not afraid anymore — I’m alive, inspired! [Outro, Acoustic fade + organ sustain] (Mm… I’m not afraid anymore…) (You broke my chains… opened the door…) (Yeah, I’m not afraid anymore…) --- notes: Words updated for song lyrics style: Southern rock worship, blues-infused, resonant acoustic guitar, gritty electric riffs, warm organ pads, steady heartfelt drums, raspy soulful male vocals with harmony-lifted chorus

Book of Psalms Back to Songs: Psalm 2 - Morning of Promise

Drawing from modern translations of the classic biblical texts, this project reimagines the Psalms with fresh musical arrangements that blend timeless messages with modern sounds. Psalm 2 - Morning of Promise Lyrics: [Intro, Bright synths, Gospel Choir] (Oh-oh-oh, the morning’s breaking) (Yeah, yeah, the light is waking) [Verse 1, Rhythmic piano, Joyful tone] The nations rise and dream in vain, Building kingdoms built on sand again, But heaven smiles, the throne still stands, Love unshaken by human hands. They cry, “We’ll break away, we’ll be free!” But the truth still sets the captive free. [Pre-Chorus, Energetic drums, Backing vocals “Oh-oh-oh”] The dawn is coming, brighter than before, Grace is rising, can’t be ignored! [Chorus, Full band, Gospel Choir joins] He said, “You are my son, my light today, I’ll lift you up in every way. Ask for the nations, they’ll come to you, The world reborn, the skies made new. Break every chain, let hope display, What was in darkness will shine today!” [Verse 2, Soulful pop groove] The Lord laughs from heaven’s view, The plans of men can’t dim what’s true. His word resounds, His promise strong, On Zion’s hill, where hearts belong. No fear can shake this holy ground, Where grace and glory both resound. [Pre-Chorus, Uplifting melody] He speaks and storms begin to calm, His power breaks like morning’s psalm. [Chorus, Layered vocals, Gospel choir harmonies] He said, “You are my son, my light today, I’ll lift you up in every way. Ask for the nations, they’ll come to you, The world reborn, the skies made new. Break every chain, let hope display, What was in darkness will shine today!” [Bridge, Call-and-response, Handclaps, Choir echoes] Be wise, all rulers, open your eyes! (Open your eyes!) Serve the Lord with joy, let your praises rise! (Praises rise!) Show respect to the Son of Light, He brings the dawn that ends the night! [Final Chorus, Full band, soaring vocals, choir in full harmony] He said, “You are my son, my light today, I’ll lift you up in every way. Ask for the nations, they’ll come to you, The world reborn, the skies made new. Book of Psalms Back to Songs: Psalm 1 - The Way to Happiness

From soulful acoustic ballads and rock/pop hymns to country pieces and R&B-inspired tunes, the project seeks to make the Psalms accessible and resonate with today’s listeners, while staying true to their emotional and spiritual depth. [Verse 1] God blesses those people who refuse evil advice and won't follow sinners or join in sneering at God. Instead, they find happiness in the Teaching of the Lord, and they think about it day and night. [Chorus] They are like trees growing beside a stream, trees that produce fruit in season and always have leaves. Those people succeed in everything they do. [Verse 2] That isn't true of those who are evil— they are like straw blown by the wind. Sinners won't have an excuse on the day of judgment, and they won't have a place with the people of God. [Chorus] They are like trees growing beside a stream, trees that produce fruit in season and always have leaves. Those people succeed in everything they do. [Bridge] The Lord protects everyone who follows him, but the wicked follow a road that leads to ruin. [Chorus] They are like trees growing beside a stream, trees that produce fruit in season and always have leaves. Those people succeed in everything they do. [Outro] Those people succeed in everything they do. genre: worship, rock, pop, gospel

The Race - By Mark R. Spencer

This song focuses on those of us who seek Heaven as our finish line. If we cross that line, in pursuit of the Salvation of Jesus, everybody wins the race. It's only when we seek earthly prizes that we lose.

Blind Faith - By Mark R. Spencer

This song is about a question that was posed to me shortly after my near death experience in 1992. An acquaintance of mine came to me asking if I could give him an example of faith. The song touches on that example. It's about a man walking a well kept road with no stumbling blocks. But, on one side of the road is the biblical abyss, and on the other is hell. I'm seeing this in my head as I tell him the story. I see the light dim, until it becomes pitch black, and then I asked him what he thought the man would do. Immediately, he said: "He falls to his knees and prays" …which sounded logical to me. But in my mind, I saw the light return, and the man was still walking. And then my perspective began to change, as I moved down and in front of the man. As I did, I told my friend what I was seeing. I was in front of the walking man, and could see his face. His eyes were completely white. The darkness never affected him, because he couldn't see it. Nor could he see the light. He had always walked in faith, and never needed to pray anything other than “Thank you Father, for guiding my steps”.

The Word Of The Lord - By Mark R Spencer

Nothing can defeat the Word Of The Lord! God is truth, and, like God, truth is absolute. It's what IS. Our truth is grounded in earthly desires, pride, greed, narcissism, and so on (If we believe it, it must be true). THE truth is grounded in what is, whether we believe it or not. And if you could ask truth it's name, the reply you'd receive would likely be: "I AM, that I AM".
