A federal judge has dismissed the last remaining seditious conspiracy case against members of the Oath Keepers, formally closing the final major January 6 criminal prosecution after the Trump administration moved to vacate the convictions. The case involved Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes and several associates whose sentences had previously been commuted by President Trump. While the judge criticized the administration's decision in his ruling, he said the court was legally required to grant the Justice Department's request.

A federal judge in Texas has ruled that key provisions of the National Firearms Act can no longer be enforced after President Trump's tax legislation eliminated the law's $200 tax on certain firearms and accessories. New Mexico has filed a federal lawsuit against the Justice Department and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, accusing the federal government of blocking the state's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's alleged sex crimes at his New Mexico ranch. State Attorney General Raúl Torrez says the Justice Department has repeatedly refused to provide investigative records that could help determine whether additional criminal charges are possible.
