Officials say the virus has now spread into urban areas, raising fears of additional deaths and possible international spread amid an ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

Judge Restricts ICE Arrests At NYC Courthouses

A federal judge in New York has ruled that immigration agents can no longer make arrests in or around three Manhattan immigration courthouses without exceptional circumstances. The decision ends a practice that led to numerous arrests of people appearing for immigration proceedings. The judge said federal agents may still make arrests in cases involving serious public safety threats or other extraordinary situations. Immigrants’ rights advocates praised the ruling, while federal officials have not publicly commented on the decision.

Former O.J. Simpson Detective Mark Fuhrman Dies At 74

Former Los Angeles police detective Mark Fuhrman has died at the age of 74. Fuhrman became a key figure in the 1995 murder trial of O.J. Simpson after reporting that he found a bloody glove at Simpson’s home. His credibility later came under scrutiny when recordings surfaced of him using racial slurs after he denied doing so under oath during the trial. A coroner in Idaho says Fuhrman died May 12 after living in the state for several years.

NYC's LIRR Service To Resume After Strike Deal

Train service is set to resume on the Long Island Rail Road after union leaders and transit officials reached a deal to end a strike that shut down the nation’s busiest commuter rail system. Commuters across the New York City suburbs still faced another difficult morning rush Tuesday, with trains not returning in time for peak travel hours. The strike began Saturday and marked the first LIRR walkout since 1994. The rail system normally carries about 250,000 riders each weekday between Manhattan, Long Island, Brooklyn, and Queens.

Elon Musk Loses High-Profile OpenAI Lawsuit

Elon Musk has lost his high-profile legal battle against OpenAI and several of its top executives in a closely watched artificial intelligence case. The trial placed some of the biggest names in tech and A.I. at the center of a growing debate over the future of the industry. Critics say the case highlighted concerns about a rapidly expanding A.I. sector controlled by a small group of powerful billionaires. Public opinion polls continue to show Americans are worried about A.I.’s impact on jobs, privacy, and the future of society.

Blanche Faces Questions Over $1.8 Billion Fund

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is set to testify before Congress for the first time since taking over the Justice Department. Lawmakers are expected to press Blanche over a nearly $1.8 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” created to compensate allies of President Donald Trump who claim they were politically targeted. Critics argue the program is an illegal abuse of power and are asking the courts to block it. Nearly 100 congressional Democrats have urged a judge to stop the fund from moving forward.

Teens, 17 & 18 Responsible For Deadly Shooting At San Diego Mosque

Three men were killed Monday in a shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the largest mosque in San Diego County. Police say the two suspects, ages 17 and 18, were later found dead inside a vehicle after taking their own lives a few blocks from the scene. Investigators say the search for the teenagers began after one suspect’s mother contacted authorities to report her son was suicidal. San Diego police say the shooting is being investigated as a hate crime.

NYC Exhibit Showcases Millions Of Epstein Case Files

A new exhibit in New York City is displaying millions of pages of Justice Department documents tied to late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Organizers say the “Donald J. The exhibit also features a timeline documenting the relationship between President Donald Trump and Epstein, along with memorials and tributes dedicated to survivors. Organizers say the exhibit is meant to highlight the scale of Epstein’s crimes and increase public awareness surrounding the released files.

Judge Considers Closing Parts of Charlie Kirk Murder Hearing

A Utah judge is deciding whether portions of the upcoming preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson should be closed to the public. Robinson is accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk on a Utah college campus in September 2025. Defense attorneys are seeking to seal some evidence and limit public access during the July 6 through July 10 hearing. Prosecutors say they plan to seek the death penalty if Robinson is convicted. The hearing is expected to provide the most detailed look at the case so far.
