San Diego police responded Monday afternoon to a deadly shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, where authorities say three men were killed. Officer Anthony Carrasco says police initially responded to reports of an active shooter and believed multiple people had been shot. Aerial footage showed a heavy police presence surrounding the mosque, which is located in a residential neighborhood about nine miles north of downtown San Diego. Police sources say both suspects involved in the shooting are also dead. The Islamic Center says it is the largest mosque in San Diego County and its campus includes the Al Rashid School, which offers courses in Arabic language, Islamic studies and the Quran.

Alex Murdaugh has filed a civil rights lawsuit against former court clerk Becky Hill, accusing her of improperly influencing the jury during his 2023 murder trial. The lawsuit comes days after South Carolina's highest court overturned Murdaugh's murder convictions, ruling he was denied a fair trial because of Hill's actions.

A judge ruled Monday that prosecutors can use a gun and notebook they say link Luigi Mangione to the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson at his upcoming murder trial. The judge rejected defense claims that the evidence was seized illegally before police obtained a search warrant.

The cruise ship linked to a deadly hantavirus outbreak has arrived in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where health officials are now working to disinfect the vessel. The MV Hondius docked Monday carrying 25 crew members and two medical workers after passengers were removed last week in Spain and sent into quarantine across multiple countries. Officials say at least 11 cases have been linked to the outbreak, including three deaths. Some crew members will now quarantine in specially prepared containers near the port if they cannot immediately return home. Health officials say the ship will undergo a full decontamination before it can sail again. Authorities stress the risk to the public remains low, and no one currently onboard is showing symptoms.

Nebraska authorities confirm two homes near St. Libory have suffered heavy damage from a tornado that passed through the area early Sunday evening. The tornado was confirmed around 5:30 p.m. The National Weather Service confirmed a twister touched down just north of Grand Island, Nebraska.
